The four kinds of festival software
Ticket sales, payments and access control. Dutch players like Weeztix (formerly Eventix) and Stager are strong here. You usually pay service fees per ticket. Indispensable, but it handles the sale, not your organisation.
Schedules, availability and hours for your team. Think of CrewPlanner, L1NDA or festiVOL for volunteers. Handy with a lot of people, but it stands apart from your budget, your run sheet and your permit.
Broad production packages for accreditation and artist advancing, like FestivalPro, Crescat or Beatswitch. Powerful for large productions, but English-language, often priced per user (per seat) and without Dutch regulations.
The reality at many festivals: a ticket tool, a crew tool and a stack of Excel files stitched together. It works, until a change has to happen in five places at once and no one knows which is the latest version anymore.

Most tools do one thing well: sell tickets, make schedules or offer a broad international package. festival.productions takes on the part that falls in between: the whole organisation of your festival. Planning and tasks, the permit and the safety file, the budget, the run sheet, crew, suppliers and the festival site live in one system that shares data. Change something in one place and it stays right everywhere.
The difference is in the depth and the language. The budget knows the difference between committed and spent and sets aside the Buma/Sena payment automatically. The permit is not a form but a file with the Dutch requirements in it. The run sheet runs minute by minute along with the day. And an AI producer lives in the system that knows your own data, thinks along and warns, but never decides for you. The price is per festival, not per seat or per user.
